Explore Japanese green teas through tastings and a hands-on tea experience at the beautiful Sherman Library & Gardens. 
  • Enjoy a curated tasting menu of four distinctive Japanese green teas
  • Discover the unique experience of eating high-grade, premium green tea - Gyokuro
  • Learn how Japanese green teas are cultivated and crafted, alongside firsthand stories from volunteering on tea farms in Japan
  • Observe the elegance of the Japanese tea ceremony (sado) through a casual, table-style demonstration
  • Learn to whisk your own bowl of matcha
  • Finish with a traditional Japanese tea sweet, paired with tea
Michelle Chen, owner of Kaeru Tea, brings firsthand experience from volunteering on tea farms in rural Japan, where she learned to harvest and process tea. She holds advanced certifications from the Global Japanese Tea Association (Kyoto) and Tea Talk Academy (Taiwan), and she also practices the Japanese tea ceremony (sado, table-style).
