Guided Nature Hike at Buck Gully

Join Ron Vanderhoff, botanist and native plant expert, for a slow-paced morning hike at Buck Gully Reserve. Nestled in Corona del Mar, this beautiful coastal canyon is just a five-minute drive from Sherman Library and Gardens. The leisurely one-mile route will take you through lush coastal sage scrub and riparian plant communities. Along the way, learn about local plants and animals as Ron shares a few identification secrets and explains their ecological significance.
Well known as both an urban horticulturist and an expert native plant botanist, Ron Vanderhoff serves as Vice President at Roger’s Gardens, Plant Science Chair for the California Native Plant Society, and State President of Calflora, the state’s largest native plant database.
